Waterwise Marque awarded to seven new water-efficient products
(26/05/2010)
The Waterwise Marque scheme operates alongside the Water Efficiency Label run by the Bathroom Manufacturer’s Association. Over 60 products from over 40 manufacturers have now been awarded the Marque since 2007 when it was first developed. The Marque has been awarded to products which cover all aspects of domestic water use, as well as some products specific to the business sector.
The Marque is awarded twice a year by an independent panel of judges to products that promote water efficiency, are available on the UK market and are of high quality design and performance. Seven new products have been awarded the Waterwise Marque.
The new products include two slim-line dishwashers from Indesit, a greywater recycling unit from DPS (Bristol) Ltd, a combined one-piece Eco Washbasin and WC from Roca, a low-volume dual-flush toilet from Twyford, a waterless urinal from WhiffAway and a shower regulator by eaga. These newly awarded products can now use the Waterwise Marque on their packaging and in marketing materials to show that our independent panel of judges think they promote water efficiency and are of high quality design and performance.
Jacob Tompkins, Managing Director of Waterwise says ‘The Waterwise Marque was the first label of its type in the UK and the number of products now being awarded is a testament to the fact that manufacturers and consumers now consider water efficiency when purchasing products. The latest products to be awarded the Marque are amongst some of the leading products on the water efficiency market, and show real innovation from manufacturers. With over 60 products now being awarded the Marque it means that consumers now have a wide range to choose from when buying new products for the home or garden. Using these products can help us all reduce the water we waste by up to a third, saving money on water bills, energy bills and reducing the stress on our water supply.’
Manufacturers of existing Waterwise Marque products claim the Marque is a very useful endorsement for securing new project work and as a result have seen an increase in sales. The Waterwise Marque can be found in stores on the product itself, product packaging, point-of-sale information, product catalogues, promotional literature and company websites.
