Minor repairs to the bathroom can save a lot of money
(18/11/2009)
With the housing market in a state of flux, more emphasis is being placed on making the most of what you already have. There’s no difference to that sentiment in the world of bathroom design, and IQ Living are making sure their customers have a full range of spares and accessories to save even more money.
IQ Living have an extensive range of bathroom accessories and spares available online, to fit most major manufacturers including Grohe, Triton and Mira. A shower bracket can cost as little as £5, compared to hundreds of pounds for a new shower unit. And in the midst of the credit crunch, every saving matters.
“It used to be a case of replacing a complete shower unit, often for the want of a simple replacement bracket, for example,” explains Michael Core, E-commerce manager of IQ Living. “Now, customers are far more willing to repair a broken bracket themselves, rather than using it as an excuse to replace the entire unit,” he adds.
“A lot of people enjoy a spot of DIY. Not only does it save you money, but you get a great sense of personal satisfaction knowing that you’ve created something special on a limited budget,” says Michael. “That’s why at IQ Living, we don’t just offer our customers complete bathroom suites we offer them all the little odds and ends too, such as clamps, shower handsets, shower heads and brackets to help them create their own special space.”
IQ Living has teamed up with some of the best known manufacturers in bathroom accessories including Grohe, Triton and Mira to provide a full range of spares and bathroom accessories starting from as little as £5. “It gives people a chance to save a lot of money very easily,” says Michael. “Rather than spending hundreds of pounds on a new shower unit for the sake of a five pound bracket, our customers can now make a quick, five minute repair and extend the life of their shower unit at a fraction of the cost,” he says.
“By providing a credit-crunch alternative to a new unit, we’re giving our customers the ability to choose what they want to spend their money on,” explains Michael. “The money you’ve saved on a new shower unit could go towards something that would really turn an average bathroom into something special.”
With the economic situation set to continue to impact on how people spend money on their homes, Michael and the team at IQ Living believe that they will see an increase in sales of spares and accessories over the coming months. “Many of the ‘little’ jobs in the bathroom are easily done by the average person, you don’t necessarily need a specialist to come in and fit a new shower head,” says Michael. “I think we’re going to see a lot more people doing their own minor repairs and this is why we’ve decided to expand our range of spares and accessories from the major suppliers – in a time of economic hardship, every penny is precious. And if we can do something to help our customers save money, that’s good enough for us.”
