Ecoplay recycles water from baths and showers for use in toilet flushing
(02/06/2008)
CME Sanitary Systems has published a comprehensively updated edition of the brochure which details its Ecoplay micro greywater recycling system. Representing an innovation in greywater technology Ecoplay recycles water from baths and showers for use in toilet flushing and the system has made a huge impact on the market since its launch at the end of last year.
The new brochure explains how Ecoplay provides a fit-and-forget solution that can reduce the volume of fresh water used for toilet flushing by up to 30%. This cuts water bills for the user, helps conserve this important resource and enables architects, developers and specifiers to add considerable environmental value to their projects.
Ecoplay can also help a property achieve a minimum water usage pass level of 3 /4 under the Code for Sustainable Homes which became mandatory for new homes on 1st May this year.
Also included in the brochure are details of the way in which Ecoplay diverts water from the bath and shower into a cleaning tank. Here, both light and heavy waste materials are removed before transferring the water to a storage tank, from where it can be gravity-fed or pumped to the toilets in the property. There are no filters to clean or replace and no chemicals to be added, and Ecoplay has a storage capacity of 100 litres – sufficient for approximately 15 toilet flushes.
Ecoplay’s control system is also outlined in the new brochure. This system actively manages the recycled water in the system at all times, purging it to drain if the toilets are not flushed within 24 hours after a period of regular use.
Since its introduction Ecoplay has already being awarded the Waterwise Marque from Waterwise, the leading UK authority on water efficiency.
