Bristan takes a closer look at how digital and its own Twinline showers compare.

Style:

Bristan’s Twinline ceiling fed showers feature a riser that cleverly doubles up as a handset slider rail. This is kept cool to the touch during showering thanks to Bristan’s Twinline design. The hot water is sent down the riser within an inner tube surrounded by the cold water supply; these water feeds are kept separate until reaching the thermostatic cartridge inside the valve.

The Twinline design comes with a choice of handle designs to complement Bristan’s product range. There is a choice of dual control (Prism & Quadrant) and single lever sequential controls (Jute & Fuse) which are part of the Bristan mini valve offer.

Installation:

Each system features a different hot and cold water mixing method that makes installation easy compared to conventional mixer showers. Both Twinline and digital showers can be ceiling-fed so no chasing out is required for pipe work as they are surface-mounted. This means the product can be fitted directly to a tiled wall which won’t be disrupted during installation.

You do not require any electrical connections and you won’t have to find room for a “mixing box” either as you would with installing a digital version. This also means that you won’t have any extra cost or headache of finding an electrician to complete the installation. Bristan Twinline showers offer a one box solution for all water systems (low & high pressure).

Safety:

Both systems are thermostatic as standard.

Reliability:

The simplicity of the Twinline design makes it reliable, with no electronic parts to malfunction. Digital by its nature is more complicated in design, using relatively new technology and therefore could be more prone to technical problems. However, in most cases both systems carry a 5 year manufacturer’s guarantee.

Price:

There is a marked difference between Twinline and digital in terms of price – Bristan’s Jute and Fuse mini twinlines are around half the price of most digital showers currently on the market.

Clare Ward, Bristan’s Marketing Manager explains, “The Twinline shower design really is the unsung hero of the shower market, offering the same contemporary look as digital but with easy installation, sleek good looks and top notch performance. It’s a great showering solution at an exceptionally good price and is available on next day delivery.”

Bristan Twinline showers are available as a convenient one box solution.
